Anju Blaxx, Bunting in alleged bust up
MUSIC producer Anju Blaxx and Brent Bunting, son of former National Security Minister Peter Bunting, have been charged following an alleged altercation in upper St Andrew, last Friday evening.
According to reports, family members of Blaxx (given name Andrew Myrie) were having a surprise birthday party for him at the residence. However, minutes after the producer arrived at the venue, Bunting came to the residence to complain that the music was too loud.
It is alleged that a fight ensued between both parties.
Bunting sustained a fractured jaw while Blaxx received injures to his face. The incident was reported to the Constant Spring Police Station in St Andrew, where Bunting was charged with unlawful wounding while the producer was slapped with wounding with intent charges.
The police information arm, the Constabulary Communication Unit, confirmed the incident but could not supply any further details.
Blaxx, who is CEO and producer of UIM Records, is one of dancehall’s leading producers. He scored big in 2013 with Bugle’s chart-topping hit No Compatible.
His Punjabi beat features dancehall heavyweights including Mavado, Popcaan, Tommy Lee Sparta, Spice, Blak Diamon, Alkaline and Konshens.
Last August, Blaxx won the People’s Choice Award in the Producer category at the Hapilos Digital Music Awards.
