JTA calls special meeting set for Monday
KINGSTON, Jamaica — The Jamaica Teachers’ Association (JTA) says it has called a special general council meeting for Monday to consider the government’s latest wage offer after meeting with the Finance and Public service ministry today.
In a release today, JTA said the meeting is set for 10:00 am at its Church Street headquarters in Kingston.
The release did not disclose what improvement, if any, has been presented by the Government.
The parties resumed negotiations after teachers ended their three-day sickout to protest the Government’s 16 per cent wage offer over a four-year period.
