Minors accused in bus conductor attack remanded
KINGSTON, Jamaica — The three minors who were taken into custody for allegedly attacking a bus conductor in Hanover last week have been remanded until Wednesday, March 28 when their attorney will make a bail application on their behalf.
The three appeared before Parish Judge, Her Honour Pamella Blackhall, in the Children’s Court Division of the Hanover Parish Court this morning.
Legal representation is being provided through the Legal Aid Council for two of three teenage boys.
According to a release from the Justice Ministry, attorney-at-law Tamika Davis represented the minors — ages 16 and 17 years — who are charged with assault occasioning bodily harm and malicious destruction of property arising from the incident which went viral on social media.
In the video, individuals appearing to be students were seen using stones and what appeared to be a cutting implement to attack the bus conductor.
