Gabriella’s Cosmetics Glam Squad Face-Off

(Part 2)

Gabriella’s Cosmetics AG (Switzerland), through its Jamaican subsidiary Gabriella’s Cosmetics (Ja) Limited, has partnered with the Jamaica Observer to unearth and nurture the next generation of image architects from whose hands and lens stories of Jamaican beauty will unfold on the pages of the Saturday Observer publication Under The Dryer as the first-ever two-person Gabriella’s Cosmetics Glam Squad imaging team.

Last week we presented the first of this two-part feature and today, readers will be introduced to the final two teams of photographers and make-up artists who are vying for a contract to become members of the Gabriella’s Cosmetics Glam Squad and for the opportunity to have their work featured in beauty campaigns in Europe, Latin America and the Caribbean. The winning duo will also have the opportunity to participate in all remaining 2018 promotional campaigns by Gabriella’s Cosmetics.

Today each team of two will interpret a beauty campaign concept that will feature the new Glitz N Glam Metallics Collection by Gabriella’s Cosmetics after which readers will be invited to vote for their favourite look. The team of Alexandria Nash, photographer, and make-up artist Tiffany Lawson combined to showcase the sun-kissed look that is a Hollywood favourite!

Cleopatra

Cleopatra is celebrated the world over for her femininity, strength and sensuality. Her portrayal by Elizabeth Taylor in the 1963 film Cleopatra gave birth to an iconic moment of beauty. In fact, Taylor’s portrayal as the Egyptian queen is as legendary as her make-up for the film. Vibrant eyeshadows, in opaque shades of blue, applied to the eyelids framed with thick graphic eyeliner stretched towards temples fuelled the trend for elaborately made-up eyes featuring metallic make-up well into the mid-60s and remains an iconic sartorial reference. More recently, the character portrayal and make-up have inspired many beauty campaigns and even a music video for Katy Perry. The team of photographer: Alexander Wong and make-up artist Chantelle Allen combined skills to interpret this global beauty reference. On models Heidie and Maria, the eyes made a statement with Allen combining Gold Shimmer, Honeybee, Oceanblue and Sparkle Baby from the Glitz N Glam Metallics Collection by Gabriella’s Cosmetics for dramatic eyes. On the lips, she applied the metallic lip gloss shade Fort Knox also from the GC Glitz N Glam Metallics Collection.

Sun-Kissed

As a recurring beauty theme for spring or summer, the glistening hyper-glow, sun-kissed skin that imbues the world of beauty at this time of year provides reassurance for all women of all shades. It’s easy-to-understand beauty that appeals to everyone but finding the right balance as a sun-kissed goddess can be a tricky endeavour. You can certainly start by indulging your inner disco diva with metallics from the Glitz N Glam Metallics Collection by Gabriella’s Cosmetics, the modern way to shine without turning yourself into a glitterball. When warmer shades are chosen, metallics offer a sun-kissed burnish that works by day but transitions seamlessly and elegantly at nighttime. In creating this go-to look, make-up artist Tiffany Lawson used the Gold Shimmer eyeshadow, from the new Glitz N Glam Collection by Gabriella’s Cosmetics, on models Maria and Heidie along with shades from the GC Peach and GC Nude eyeshadow palettes. On Maria’s lips Lawson applied the Gabriella’s Cosmetics Matte Cream lipstick in Naked whilst on Heidie she finished the look with the GC Liquid Matte lipstick in Nude.

Chantelle also created signature drawings using the GC eyeliner with all final looks featuring shades from the GC contour and highlighter palettes as well as foundation, mascara, eyebrow gel and setting spray — all upcoming 2018 products from Gabriella’s Cosmetics.

The finished looks reaffirm metallics are a mainstay beauty necessity and with their just-in-time Glitz N Glam Metallics Collection, Gabriella’s Cosmetics is on-track in ensuring they are ‘Awakening the Fabulous New You’ with their upcoming suite of cosmetic products.
