Best New Product 2018 – Nominee: Nescafé Frappélatte

Counting Down To The 20th Staging Of The Jamaica Observer Table Talk Food Awards, Thursday, May 31, 2018

Nescafé Frappélatte is… the newest indulgence from Nestle

It is a… unique and refreshing treat with the perfect balance between the best of Nescafé and delicious ice cream.

Launched in November 2017, Nescafe Frappélatte is… currently available in multiple locations across Jamaica — hotels, supermarkets, universities, restaurants and petrol stations. The product is sold on its own at an affordable and attractive price point or in some instances, bundled with your favourite lunch meals. New locations such as places of attraction are to be added in the near future.

Our major challenge is… Nestlé provides to all establishments the machine free of cost and all its accessories — straws and premium sexy branded Nescafé Frappélatte 4oz Champagne flutes. The major drawback has to do with the 4oz cup size, as the product is so indulgent that consumers cannot seem to just have one serving. We encourage retailers, however, to upsize the offer using dome cups which are more convenient for the on-the-go consumers.

Future plans include… Jamaicans love ice cream and we want to help them enjoy their favourite treats by providing more flavours for them to enjoy. Currently Nescafé Frappélatte comes in one flavour — coffee — marketed under the leading Nescafé brand name, but we are looking to extend to other delicious flavours such as Milo.

Jamaicans should support this product because… Nescafé Frappélatte is a product of Nescafé, marketed under the Nescafé brand and as such, consumers can rest assured of the product’s superior quality and great taste. Nescafé Frappélatte is more than a coffee beverage and more than an ice cream; it is a delicious iced coffee!

Our product is successful because… Nescafé Frappélatte is an industry game-changing “moment of truth” that builds upon the increasing popularity of cold, milky coffee beverages and our world-leading Nescafé brand. The product is offered through an intuitive operating system that delivers the product in a convenient and consistent way; providing people with a superior Nescafé coffee experience. The simple and comfortable handling of the machine guarantees optimal serving even at high traffic. It is quite versatile and can be enjoyed on its own or jazzed up with different garnishes that suit each consumer’s taste buds.

If we knew then what we know now… We would have launched additional flavours of Nescafé Frappélatte at the same time to provide more ways for consumers to enjoy their creamy frozen coffee essert!
