DIY Beauty Looks from Runway to Everyday

Style Week Jamaica Is Here!

In our April 28 edition of Under The Dryer (UTD) we showcased three runway-ready beauty looks courtesy of Gabriella’s Cosmetics, on Saint International model Amoy Hemmings, as we began our countdown to Style Week Jamaica 2018. These straight-from-the-runway looks were seen across the fashion weeks in London, Milan and Paris, and which, will rule the rest of 2018.

With make-up an inevitable and very important part of women’s daily lives and with beauty trends evolving almost daily, there are flourishing new make-up styles which never fail to attract. We are completely mesmerised by the flawless beauty looks emanating from the international runways which range from cherishable and blissfully raw make-up looks to the extremely pleasing minimalist.

This week, we feature runway beauty looks that you can do yourself as you gear up to attend Fashion Block tonight on Knutsford Boulevard or International Mecca of Style slated for tomorrow at The Roof of Digicel HQ or to simply make a bold beauty weekend statement.

To showcase the ease of their make-up application and the range of on-trend colours available within their product range is the Jamaican-trained, Swiss-certified aesthetician and make-up artist Terian Maegerle, president of Gabriella’s Cosmetics AG (Switzerland). Today’s shoot will see Maegerle creating minimalist beauty looks that feature four lip gloss colours from the Glitz ‘N’ Glam Metallics Collection by Gabriella’s Cosmetics that you can do yourself.

Tropical climate can affect the skin causing some damage if make-up is used in excess and constantly, also causing the make-up application to fade and lose its beauty over the course of an eight-12 hour period. To combat this, Maegerle has created four minimalist make-up suggestions you can try that are runway-suitable for that refreshing look desired by every woman!

Face

In creating the minimalist look for the entire face, Maegerle incorporated a range of products from Gabriella’s Cosmetics current inventory as well as upcoming new products set for a late 2018 release. She began with the GC Liquid Foundation in Caramel and continued building the look, using the GC Loose Powder in Deep, the GC Highlight and Contour Pressed Powder Palette, GC Blush in Honey and the GC Bronzer in Golden.

Eyes

Maegerle continued building the look by enhancing the eyes, brows and lashes using GC Browpot in Jet to sharpen the look of the eyebrows. The GC highlight and Contour Cream Palette were then applied under the eyebrows, to shape and define them whilst the GC 88-Colour Warm Palette was used to seal the cream contour before the base shadow was applied. On the brow bone and under the eye base, the GC Dusty Brown nude-themed eyeshadow palette was then used as a contour with the Outerspace eyeshadow used to deepen the contour. The metallic eyeshadow Glitz was used to blend with the Outerspace afterwhich the eyelids were coloured with GC eyeshadow Gabriella (Gabbi) as the main shade. Halfway under the eyes Maegerle then added Island Haze eyeshadow with Gold Fever eyeshadow applied to the inner eye corners. Gabriella’s Cosmetics eyeliner was then applied to the waterline while the GC Liquid Liner was applied to the top lid with the eyes being finished with the application of the GC Mascara to bottom and top lashes.

Having completed the face and eyes, Maegerle then set about applying the four lip colours to be featured.

Rose Gold

Walking the line between classic pink and a 24-karat metallic, the heavy metal of the moment flatters every skin tone and is a welcome departure from your everyday petal or nude colour.

Fort Knox

This metallic lip gloss is practically dripping wet with its yellowy-gold pigment and offers shimmery colour that lasts all day.

Bronze Shimmer

A colour-rich, shimmery lip gloss with glittery hues that dazzle in the sunlight and glide on like gloss but are pigmented like lipsticks.

Pink Sparkle

Lipstick provides the right pop of colour combined with the perfect shimmer. A single swipe provides serious pigments that last all day.

In the final analysis, Maegerle has provided beauty looks that are easy to replicate and bound to get you noticed during Style Week Jamaica 2018 with products all from Gabriella’s Cosmetics Switzerland.

Style Week Jamaica happens May 16-20, 2018 at venues across Kingston and features Jamaica’s top international models and fashion designers from across the world.
