Prohibited items at National Stadium for today’s track meet
ST ANDREW, Jamaica — The police are advising persons who will be attending the 15th staging of the Jamaica International Invitational Track Meet at the National Stadium this evening, to take note of stipulations for licensed firearm holders and prohibited items.
Among the prohibited items listed by the police are weapons, selfie-sticks, fireworks, devices for creating flames, alcoholic beverages, glass bottle beverages, large igloos, umbrellas with points, two litre plastic bottles and personal bottles (squeeze or otherwise).
However, lawmen said bottles with frozen liquid will be permitted inside the stadium.
Meanwhile, licensed firearm holders must make arrangements for the safekeeping of their weapons, as no weapons will be allowed inside and as such persons may contact the Stadium Police for assistance.
The police said that members will be deployed in adequate numbers to ensure safety and order during the event and afterwards. As a result persons are asked to cooperate with them and promptly obey all directions given.
