Style Week — Night of French Élan
Saint International principal Deiwght Peters continued his onslaught on the local fashion industry when he and his army of Saints staged French Elan on the lawns of the French ambassador’s Hillcrest Avenue residence on Thursday evening.
With the mansion providing an exquisite frame for the Saint International Style Week event, and doubling as a preview pane for the pieces, the fashion spectacular featured collections from local label Heather Laine and menswear design house Spokes Apparel. The highlight of the evening, however, was the extravagant collection presented by Martiniquan-born, Paris-based designer Kevin O’Brian — whose display spanned a wide array of fabrics.
New Level Décor’s styling, music by disc jock Iset Sankofa, and a Campari cocktail bar were all added pleasures, but it was the stellar display of fashion at the event — hosted by French Ambassador to Jamaica Jean-Michel Despax and his charming wife Line — that worked attendees into a frenzy.
