Judge orders police to justify arrest of Tommy Lee

ST JAMES, Jamaica — The police have been given until next Tuesday to appear in the Montego Bay Parish Court to justify their detention of dancehall artist Tommy Lee Sparta.

Parish Judge Sandria Wong Small today made the order after attorneys Tom Tavares Finson and Donahue Martin made a habeas corpus application.

The controversial entertainer was arrested Sunday morning in St Andrew following his performance at the Magnum Kings and Queen competition.

The police reportedly held the entertainer in relation to organised crime in St James.
