Funch packs a punch
THE second staging of Funch was a phenomenal success. Promoted by the Buchanan Group, the event was held at 9 West Kings House Road in St Andrew on Labour Day.
Christopher “Remix” Douglas, spokesperson for the event and member of X Factor sound, said Funch brought something different.
“Funch is different from every single brunch party. Its good vibes, good food, fun with food. You can’t go wrong with that,” said Douglas.
“What made the event stand out was the digital bar list which is animated. Its all about creating a futuristic experience and the food is awesome. You have to pay attention to social media when promoting an event,” he continued.
The gates being opened at 3:00 pm however, most of the patrons didn’t come out until late evening.
VJ Malik warmed patrons with an array of musical selections early in the afternoon, until Bishop Escobar, X Factor, ZJ Nova and Code Red took over duties after dark and turned the venue into a blazing musical inferno.
Young professionals as well as several members of the entertainment fraternity were spotted. They include promoters of Sandz, Pon Di Plaza and Ova Suh, members of the Portmore Society.
