UPDATE: Man shot, chopped, set ablaze in Cassava Piece identified

KINGSTON, Jamaica — The police have released the identity of the man who was killed at his home in the Cassava Piece area of St Andrew early this morning.

The dead man has been identified as 23-year-old Lorenza Thomas, otherwise called ‘Israel’ or ‘Trulups’, of Cassava Piece Road, Kingston 8.

According to reports from the Jamaica Constabulary Force’s Corporate Communications Unit, Thomas was killed by unknown assailants who kicked open the door to his home about 3:30 am.

The men reportedly fired multiple gunshots at Thomas before inflicting several chop wounds then setting him afire.
