MoBay’s Finest unearthing new talents
MONTEGO BAY, St James — The second staging in the series MoBay’s Finest brought out young and upcoming talents from Montego Bay, delivering songs across various genres to an appreciative audience inside Music Lounge two Saturdays ago.
Headlined by Montego-based Hip Hop artiste Karma Crew, the show also featured Rosh Rebel, KALIGRN, Moulaue, Walt, and Florida-based rapper Daley.
The event was conceptualised by Karma Crew and teacher Delta Wright, and is designed to bring awareness to the talent that resides in Montego Bay as well as, to provide a platform for upcoming artistes who may not necessarily get the chance otherwise.
“We wanted to provide a meaningful platform and space that artistes from Montego Bay could utilise and at the same time have an appreciative audience.
“We also wanted to ensure that all genres are represented because there are some genres that are sometimes overlooked in other settings. While the focus is on Montego Bay-based artistes, we have an open mic segment where anyone can come and represent, so we are also promoting inclusiveness,” Crew explained.
“The movement is also a unifying one; the different artistes come together to create this wonderful event, but we also have support from young talent in other areas, the production and coverage is done by our colleagues 876 Media Entertainment and Photobomb Photography.”
