National Minimum Wage moved to $7,000 weekly
KINGSTON, Jamaica — Minister of Labour and Social Security Shahine Robinson, a short while ago, announced a new national minimum wage as well as new minimum rates for private security guards.
In her contribution to the Sectoral debate in Parliament Robinson said that effective August 1, the new minimum wage will be increased to $7,000 up from $6,200 per week.
Meanwhile, security guards should see an increase from $8,854 to $9,700.
