A possible approach to Ja’s problems
Dear Editor,
As the control of power shifts from one political party to the next, many of Jamaica’s problems are left unattended.
Most of us can only dream of prosperity, but some can make it happen for themselves and others. Many business groups and civic organisations are already engaged in bringing about improvements and not leaving it all up to the Government, but there is so much more to be done.
As those with the will and good intentions — business, civic and religious groups — contemplate how else to approach the various problems, I strongly recommend reading an opinion piece titled ‘Where American Politics Can Still Work From The Bottom Up’ by Thomas Friedman in the July 4 issue of The New York Times. It could replace the word “American” with “Jamaican”.
