KINGSTON, Jamaica — The police have reported that a Greek national and former general manager of an all-inclusive hotel in Trelawny was arrested last night at the Norman Manley International Airport (NMIA) in Kingston for financial crimes going as far back as 2010.

According to a report from the police’s Corporate Communications Unit (CCU), the man, who is also the holder of a Jamaican and an American passport, was apprehended after arriving on the island about 7:40 pm.

CCU said his arrest emanated from an intense investigation into several fraudulent activities involving two major banking institutions, which include acquiring several credit facilities from these institutions using different Taxpayer Registration Numbers and names.

He is to be interviewed in the presence of his attorney following which; he is to be charged with obtaining credit by false pretence, obtaining money by false pretence and breaches of the Revenue Administration Act.
