GG appoints two new Queen’s Counsels
KINGSTON, Jamaica — The Governor-General has announced the appointment of two new Queen’s Counsels.
King’s House, in a release today, said that on the recommendation of the prime minister, Governor General Sir Patrick Allen appointed attorneys-at-law Caroline P Hay and Carolyn C Reid as Queen’s Counsel, with effect from July 18, 2018.
Attorneys are appointed Queen’s Counsel in Jamaica on the recommendation of several bodies, after which their recommendations are submitted to the Governor General for his assent.
The recommending bodies include, The General Legal Council, Queen’s Council Committee, Jamaican Bar Association, Cornwall Bar Association, and The Advocates Association of Jamaica.
