Chang’s fencing performance at CAC Games will be long remembered — Grange
KINGSTON, Jamaica — Minister of Culture, Gender, Entertainment and Sport, Olivia Grange has described Caitlin Chang’s winning of Jamaica’s first medal in fencing in any competition as “a standout performance which has done Jamaica proud and which will be long remembered”.
Chang won the silver medal in the final of the individual fencing competition at the Central American and Caribbean Games in Barranquilla, Colombia, on Saturday.
Grange in a release from her ministry said “Caitlin is another clear example of our growing capacity in sports, especially non-traditional sports”.
And in offering her “heartiest congratulations” the sport minister added that athletes such as Chang deserve as much support as the country can possibly give them.
