MISS IN KISS WINS CHARLES RANDLE TROPHY
Miss In Kiss, trained by Gary Subratie and ridden by Aaron Chatrie, easily won the Charles Randle Trophy by two lengths going over the five furlong (1,000m) straight course on the Betting Gaming and Lotteries Commission race day at Caymanas Park on August 1, 2018.
The three-year-old chestnut filly’s win was aided by a change in equipment with the tongue being added as she came home in 1:02.2.
Miss In Kiss matched strides with Lala Diva (Wesley Henry) in the early exchanges before drawing away inside the final furlong (200m) to complete the victory. Lala Diva held on for second money, while Black Point (Odeen Edwards) came through for third place with Pandora’s Box (Omar Walker) ending in fourth position.
BINDAREDUNDAT GETS HOME IN DIRECTOR’S CUP
Three-year-old chestnut gelding Bindaredundat released the maiden tag when he won the Director’s Cup at Caymanas Park on Wednesday.
Bindaredundat (Aaron Chatrie) sat behind the early pace and took his time rounding horses on the inside rails before he caught up with Father Pickins (O’Brien White) approaching the final bend. Turning for home with the lead, Bindaredundat accelerated in deep stretch, winning by six lengths over So Smooth (Gary Richards) and My Mom Juss (Dick Cardenas).
Trained by Paul ‘Sleepy’ Charlton, Bindaredundat ran eight-and-a-half furlongs (1,700m) in 1:50.3.
SIX HORSES CLAIMED ON EMANCIPATION DAY
Six horses were claimed on the 10-race mid-week programme at Caymanas Park on Wednesday.
In the first race on a $180,000 claiming tag, Lincoln Lungs claimed No Money Friend for owner Glendon Drummond from Ryan Darby, while Terrence McWhinney claimed Chief Prospect for owner Faye Lee from Steven Todd.
Burlin was claimed from Roy Mathews by Arnold Rambally Jr for owner Junior Powell; Meet Justin was taken from Randolph Scott by Ryan Darby for owner Raphael Gordon; Rising Bop was claimed from Gary Crawford by Stanley Findlay for himself and Trini Magic was claimed from Tyrone Prince by Borris McIntosh for himself from the fifth race. All claims in the fifth race went for $350,000.
TODD, CHARLTON ON THE DOUBLE
Trainer Steven Todd and Paul Charlton had a good day at the races on Wednesday last as both saddled two winners on the 10-race programme. Todd won with Chief Prospect and Diferentgeneration, while Charlton was successful with Bindaredundat and Flowers Thirty.
Ridden by Devon A Thomas, Chief Prospect won the first event – the Albert Rose Memorial Trophy over nine furlongs and 25 yards (1,820m) by three-and-a-quarter lengths. The seven-year-old bay gelding won ahead of No Money Friend and King Nebarue in a time of 2:05.0.
Diferentgeneration, ridden by Oneil Scott, was a two-and-a-quarter length winner in the fifth race – the Jamaica 56 Trophy over seven furlongs (1,400m). Differentgeneration came with a strong run in the straight to upstage Rising Bop and Burlin in a time of 1:28.3.
With Aaron Chatrie in the saddle, Bindaredundat was a four-and-a-half length winner in the fourth race – the Director’s Cup over eight and a half furlongs (1,700m). Bindaredundat defeated So Smooth and My Mom Juss in time of 1:50.3.
Flowers Thirty (Jerome Innis) came with a strong run on the inside rails late in the race to win the ninth – the Compliance and Regulatory Division Trophy over seven furlongs (1,400m). Flowers Thirty won ahead of Unexpected and Sunshine Cat.
