Thursday Night Kingston Pub Crawl
Before the advent of ‘Sunday Funday,’ there was ‘Thursday’s the new Friday’. Thursday is a great night to go out — it’s almost the weekend, so people are generally in a better mood; oftentimes bars will have drink specials; hotspots aren’t as crowded, and if you’re a few minutes late for work on Friday morning, HR will probably let it slide. Do not, however, try this on a Monday morning. It’s also a great night for a first date; that’s if you’re not into any of Shondaland’s shows!
Saturday Social traipsed throughout the Corporate Area on Thursday night — a perfect segue into the Independence weekend. Deciding to hang out within the triangle created by Hope, Waterloo and Ardenne Roads, we visited Skydweller Ultra Lounge, 100 Hope Road and Regency Bar and Lounge at the Terra Nova All-Suite Hotel.
Kingston provides a number of solid options if you want to spend some money on a Thursday evening. Skydweller Ultra Lounge has ladies’ night with wine specials until midnight. 100 Hope Road has happy hour specials with $100 mixed drinks between 4:00 and 5:00 pm; $200 mixed drinks between 5:00 and 6:00 pm; and $300 mixed drinks between 6:00 and 7:00 pm. And, Regency Bar and Lounge at the Terra Nova All-Suite Hotel has its $1,500 all-you-can-drink special between 7:00 pm and midnight.
Matthew Hann, marketing manager, Terra Nova All-Suite Hotel and Regency Bar and Lounge, conceptualised the drink special event series. He wanted patrons to explore the Regency’s cocktail menu and leave their rum and coke comfort zones. Patrons can enjoy premium drinks and the gold-standard Regency experience for a song! With only three more Thursdays left in the series our suggestion is to hasten along.
Saturday Social raises a toast ahead of birthday #56. Happy Independence!
