Police step up probe into shooting of woman
The St Andrew South Police said yesterday that investigations into the circumstances surrounding the shooting of a woman that occurred at the intersection of Washington Boulevard and Headley Avenue in Kingston on Friday were advanced.
Police have not named the woman, but reports are that she is the wife of nightclub operator Corey Todd, who runs the popular Taboo clubs with locations in Kingston and Montego Bay.
Law enforcers said that around 5:15 pm, the woman was driving her Mercedes Benz along the road when men drove up on motorcycles and shot at her. She was hit several times but escaped her attackers before crashing the car in a fence.
Police later took her to hospital where she remains in serious but stable condition, officials said.
