Weather update: Tropical wave to bring afternoon showers
KINGSTON, Jamaica — A tropical wave east of Jamaica is expected to trigger mainly afternoon showers as it drifts across the island today, says the Meteorological (Met) Service of Jamaica.
This morning, isolated showers are expected across northeastern parishes, while elsewhere will be mainly sunny.
In the afternoon, widely scattered showers and thunderstorms are expected across section of western parishes and tonight should be partly cloudy.
Meanwhile, the Met Service says after the tropical wave, a strong high pressure ridge is expected to build across the northern Caribbean bringing with it mostly sunny and windy conditions.
The maximum temperature expected for Kingston today is 33 degrees Celsius, while Montego Bay is 32 degrees Celsius.
