UPDATE: 62-y-o woman dies in Spur Tree accident
MANDEVILLE, Manchester- Sixty-two-year-old, Paulette Mullings, of a 2 East Greater Portmore address, died as a result of injuries received in a motor vehicle collision t on the Spur Tree main road in the parish yesterday (Saturday).
Reports from the Mandeville Police are that at about 2:10 pm she was driving her motor car along the roadway, heading up the hill, when the driver of a truck travelling in the opposite direction lost control of his vehicle.
The cement mixer from the truck reportedly fell on Mullings’ car.
She was trapped in the vehicle until a crane arrived on the scene to remove the cement mixer.
Mullings was then taken to hospital where she was pronounced dead.
As the police and fire fighters worked until early evening to get her out of the vehicle and clear the roadway, motorists had to use alternative routes.
The Mandeville Police told OBSERVER ONLINE that the driver of the truck sought medical attention.
Mullings and the truck driver, whose injuries it seems were not serious, appeared to have been the only occupants in their respective vehicle.
