Gospel singer Jermaine Edwards believes he will reach his career peak with his upcoming album scheduled for release next month. The project will follow his previous album, Don’t Count Me Out , released in 2014.

“I believe that this album is gonna be one of my greatest works,” Edwards told the Jamaica Observer. “I believe that this is a Usain Bolt moment for me, everything just line up. You know you have some people who feel like something big is coming? I feel that this album is that; I’m not saying I’m not going to do other albums but you know like Bob Marley’s Exodus and Usain only run the fastest one time? He ran other good times but one time he reached that peak level and I believe that my peak is in this album,” he continued.

Edwards was speaking at the album launch of Ryan Mark’s Your Grace in Portmore recently. While Edwards does not have a title for the album, which will be his sixth, he did note that he will be producing the set which will host no more than 17 tracks.

“I made some mistakes in the past by picking names so I’m waiting to see which song will speak to me and then I’ll use that song as the title,” he said.

He said the album is geared to pull all audiences.

“It’s a wide cross section album, more like a contemporary, kinda reggae, kinda worship, kinda youthful…I mean everyone knows me for the variety of music so it’s more of that,” said Edwards. “I’m a pastor’s son so I really don’t like doing music for just one set of persons. I want when I put it in a 50-year-old and a 10-year-old can listen to it. I try to write music that appeals to every emotion.”

This was evident in Edwards set at the launch. Kids and adults were all dancing along to songs like the lively Beautiful Day, and the 2018 single My Champion.
