Digicel, Wisynco contribute over $100m to schoolboy football
KINGSTON, Jamaica — Digicel and Wisynco have been confirmed as title sponsors of the ISSA Manning and daCosta Cup competitions a short while ago at the launch of the schoolboy football season held at the Terra Nova hotel in St Andrew.
Digicel, in their second stint as title sponsors, will pump in $75 million over three years while Wisynco announced a $31.5 million annual sponsorship, also over three years.
Associate sponsor KFC will be contributing $18 million and pay $500 for every goal scored in the first round of the competition “which is going to be a big deal”.
SportsMax will be media partners and will broadcast selected matches live throughout the season; their deal is worth just over $46 million annually.
Meanwhile, Manning Cup and defending All-Island kingpins Jamaica College (JC) will take on Hydel High and daCosta Cup champion Rusea’s High tackle Green Island High as the ISSA football season kickoffs on Saturday, September 8 at Catherine Hall.
The format of the competitions remains the same but the popular Super Cup all-island knockout has been changed to the ISSA Champions Cup.
