Gospel singer Omari plans to release a double album this year. Titled Royalty, the 24-track set will be out on his Hub Entertainment label.

“The album is more than half completed and the material will comprise one- drop reggae and contemporary music,” he said in an interview with the Jamaica Observer from his home in Florida. “Right now I am working on the channels to get the album marketed properly and make it available in the right places.”

Arif Cooper, Donovan Germain, Ty Shane, Danny Browne, The Amazings (an American duo) and Africa-based Genus Records produced songs for Royalty.

Royalty will be Omari’s second album. His first, Omari Presents: Heal Jamaica, Heal the World, was released in 2011.

Omari emerged on the scene in 2006. Originally from Kingston, he moved to Florida two years ago.

He scored his first hit song with Help in 2007. That single opened doors for him and established Omari as an artiste to watch.he followed up with Why (produced by Kurt Riley) and Jehovah Guide Me (produced by Romeich Records).

Two years ago he teamed with Kenyan artiste Jfam for the song Wave, which won an award for Best Song at the 2017 Groove Awards in Africa.

Migrating to Florida, he said, was strategic.

“I wanted to spread the music and push the message in different spaces. I am also looking to expand my brand and tap into other markets outside of Jamaica.”
