St Andrew South Member of Parliament (MP) Mark Golding says he is arranging with Crime Stop for a $500,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of the culprit(s) in the murder of 14-year-old Yetanya Francis in the constituency between Thursday night and Friday morning.
2. NCB warns of scam using point of sale machines
The National Commercial (NCB) reported that criminals have taken to stealing point of sale (POS) machines, which they tamper with before returning them to their original or different merchant locations, in an effort to capture cardholders’ information.
3. Phillips accused of politicising murder of 14-y-o Yetanya
Leader of the Opposition People’s National Party (PNP) Dr Peter Phillips, is under fire this morning after he made assertions that police patrols in Trench Town, where 14-year-old Yetanya Francis was murdered sometime between Thursday night and Friday morning, was limited because of the zones of special operations (ZOSO) and state of public emergency (SOE) in other areas on the island.
4. Suspected reprisal shooting in Manchester
The Manchester police say they are treating a shooting incident in the parish yesterday as a reprisal for the stabbing death of a man last Monday night.
5. Theft of JPS transformers affecting Portmore water supply
The National Water Commission (NWC) says the theft of three Jamaica Public Service Company (JPSCo) transformers in Portmore, St Catherine over the weekend has resulted in the disruption of water supply in areas supplied by its Goshen Pen system.
