Woman’s throat slashed, body placed in igloo in Manchester
MANCHESTER, Jamaica — A woman was killed and her body placed in a cooler box (igloo), which was left in an abandoned motor vehicle along the Winston Jones Highway in Manchester, the police are reporting.
The lawmen said a team of officers was on mobile patrol about 1:25 am today, when they saw a grey Toyota Starlet motorcar parked on the roadway with the front doors open.
Checks were made and the body of the female was found wrapped in a sheet and placed in the cooler box on the backseat. Her throat had been slashed, the police said.
The scene was processed and the body removed to the morgue pending identification and post mortem examination.
At this time, the detectives assigned to the Manchester Criminal Investigations Branch (CIB) are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the body.
The body is of brown complexion, medium build, about 168 centimetres (5 feet 6 inches) long and has long natural hair.
The woman appears to be in her late 20s.
