From cocktails to the boardroom: Daytime metallics

At the beginning of 2004, the term “from desk to dinner” became an integral part of the fashion lexicon. It sought to revolutionise the concept of work clothes and broadened the scope of what was acceptable both in the boardroom and in tony restaurants littered across the world’s fashion capitals. The term resurfaced in 2008, after the economic downturn, when consumers who were actually spending sought to maximise the versatility of their garments. This season, fashion has flipped the switch and now the bar has influenced the boardroom. Say hello to daytime metallics! These few pictures will show you how to wear lamé and sequins between 9:00 am and 5:00 pm.
