Three killed in Manchester crash
MANCHESTER, Jamaica — The Porus police are at this time investigating the circumstance surrounding the death of three men who died from injuries they sustained in a motor vehicle collision along the Whitefield main road in Porus, Manchester today.
The dead men have been identified as 36-year-old construction worker Delroy Lindsay, 29-year-old labourer Oshane Walters and 42-year-old Derrick Salmon.
Reports are that about 12:00 am, Lindsay, who was driving a white Toyota Corolla motorcar, was heading towards Clarendon when it is alleged that he overtook a line of traffic and crashed with a BMW motor car on the opposite side of the road. Both motor vehicles were extensively damaged, the police said.
According to the police, Walters and Salmon, who were passengers in the Corolla, along with Lindsay were trapped in the vehicle and had to be removed by members of the Manchester fire department.
All three men were taken to hospital where death was confirmed. The driver and a passenger in the BMW motor car did not sustain any serious injuries.
Investigations continue.
