KINGSTON, Jamaica — The Ministry of Education has bowed to pressure from the Jamaica Teachers’ Association to push back December’s implementation of the performance task component of the Primary Exit Profile (PEP) exam.
A six-year-old Clarendon boy died on Monday after being swept away by floodwaters in the Mount Claire area of the parish.
And, a Manchester woman was taken into police custody on Thursday following the stabbing death of her common-law husband during a domestic dispute earlier that day.
In sport, it was revealed on Thursday that the Inter-Secondary Schools Sports Association (ISSA), the body that runs high school sports in Jamaica, has taken a big step towards restricting the recruitment and transfer of student-athletes between schools, with new rules that are set to come into effect on January 1.
