Where are the garbage trucks?
Dear Editor,
I would like to find out why it is that in the Corporate Area it seems garbage trucks have stopped collecting from especially Brenton Avenue in the Kingston 5 area.
Since the absence of the garbage trucks some residents have resorted to throwing rubbish on the sidewalk, which is not legal.
I would like the relevant authority to look into the matter; I believe it is the National Solid Waste Management Authority (NSWMA). The residents would like to know what is going on.
At the very least there needs to be some garbage skips along sections of the road like years ago. This will cause residents to desist from throwing their waste on the sidewalk and in the gullies, as the results are blocked drains and gullies.
The relevant authority needs to wake up and smell the garbage and arrange for the collection of the domestic waste at least one day per week.
