KINGSTON, Jamaica — The Government has committed to investing in the human resources for the Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) sector.

Prime Minister Andrew Holness made the pronouncement while addressing the opening of the KPMG Jamaica Extended Support Services (K-JESS) facility today (Tuesday, November 13) at the KPMG JESS facility in downtown Kingston.

“The Government of Jamaica stands in support of BPO and we will make the necessary investments to ensure that there is the flow of human resources to support the continued development and expansion of that industry,” said Holness.

The prime minister declared that with the opening of the K-JESS facility, it marks a good day for Jamaica’s investment environment and employment expansion.

“Jamaica needs to continue to increase the momentum and the speed at doing business here. It is our intention to make Jamaica the place of choice. Yes, we are tenacious but yes we are a good place to do business,” said Holness.

According to the prime minister, the BPO sector will continue to be in demand despite the emergence of artificial intelligence.

“The industry will evolve, it will change as technology evolves and therefore we are going to be investing in the higher order services to ensure that Jamaica continues to be an attractive destination for BPO services and I want that message to get out to all our investors,” said Holness.
