Jannett Scott-Garvey does it for Christ
Former deejay-cum-gospel artiste Jannett Scott-Garvey is using her craft to win souls for Christ.
The Canada-based act recently recorded a reggae-gospel single called You Will Stay With Me at the Supamixe Studio.
You Will Stay With Me is produced by engineer Nigel Bowel with background vocals by LaToya Halldowner. Ansel Collins and Raheem Burrell is credited for playing keyboard and guitar, and bass and keyboard, respectively.
“I know that young Christian-minded people will respond well to this song,” said Scott-Garvey, who got converted earlier this year.
This single is expected to be released on June 6 next year.
“I love my new life in Jesus, serving the Lord is the greatest thing that happened to me. This song is an affirmation that the Lord will stay with me and He gave me this song to be number one and I believe in my Saviour,” she said.
Born in St Elizabeth, Scott-Garvey (formerly Lady Luscious) migrated to Canada a decade ago. She became a fixture on the Canadian dancehall scene.
She appeared in the Canadian movie Jumping the Gun and won the Best Reggae Singjay/Deejay title at the third annual Reggae Exclusive Recognition Award 2014 in Toronto.
