Ammo seized in Westmoreland, two escape
WESTMORELAND, Jamaica — The driver of a Toyota Axio motorcar and his male passenger yesterday ditched several rounds of ammunition as they fled the vehicle in Savanna-la-Mar, Westmoreland where they had encountered a team of police officers.
The police report that during an operation in the area about 10:30 am, the driver was signalled to stop, to which he complied. However, the officers said as they approached the vehicle, he and his passenger ran.
Closer examination of the vehicle revealed that fourteen .40 rounds of ammunition were found in a bag inside the door of the front passenger seat, the police reported.
The men escaped.
