Digicel offers free tickets to Manning Cup final
KINGSTON, Jamaica — Digicel is giving customers who top up their mobile phones with $300 or more, one free ticket to the Manning Cup final, where Kingston College (KC) will face St George’s College in another epic “North Street battle”.
The highly anticipated football match is set for Friday, November 30 at 6:00 pm at the National Stadium, where organisers, ISSA, will be opening up additional sections in the ‘Bleacher’ area to provide more seats for spectators.
Digicel said customers can top up at its store in Sovereign Liguanea, Manor Park, Tropical Plaza or the Digicel Head Office store in downtown Kingston and collect their free bleacher ticket. Top ups for tickets can also be done at the Digicel tent at the National Stadium on match day, but this is subject to limited availability.
Once inside the National Stadium, customers get even more chances to win great prizes including smartphones, credit and lots more while they cheer for their favourite teams. The half-time show will feature Digicel brand ambassador, Miss Kitty, the energetic ZJ Sparks and one of dancehall’s hottest artistes, Govana, Digicel outlined in a release yesterday.
“With the combination of exciting football action, amazing half-time entertainment, streaming on-the-go and opportunities to win tickets to the game, there’ll be plenty to look forward to at the National Stadium this Friday. We’re inviting everyone to come on out and experience an action-packed showdown. It will be a classic ‘North Street battle’ not to be missed,” commented Digicel CEO, Justin Morin.
The final will be also attended by 2018 Digicel Manning Cup Programme Ambassador and former national and English Premier League player, Ricardo Fuller, who has been hosting a series of mentorship and leadership clinics with players and coaches. Fuller will also be naming his ‘Top 11’ picks from the 2018 season following the final game. Impressed with the higher standard of play this season, Fuller notes, “We’ve seen a number of surprise wins and losses as a direct result of how teams are better prepared this season from a physical and psychological standpoint. I’m looking forward to an action-packed final match.
The Digicel Manning Cup competition fosters the development of football in Jamaica. The competition ignites old high school football rivalries, while placing the spotlight on fresh young talents that have emerged throughout the season.
St George’s will be seeking to hold the coveted title for the 23rd time, while their North Street neighbour, KC wants to make it 15 this year.
Before the big St George’s/KC match-up at 6:00 pm, their Under-16 counterparts will do battle at 4:00 pm in the final for that category.
