Turning restriction at Constant Spring Grove/Road intersection come Monday — NWA
KINGSTON, Jamaica — Effective Monday, December 10, the Constant Spring Road and Constant Spring Grove intersection in St Andrew will be closed to vehicular access.
The National Works Agency (NWA) said that as a result motorists will no longer be able to turn from Constant Spring Grove onto Constant Spring Road or from Constant Spring Road onto Constant Spring Grove, in the vicinity of Electrical Depot.
The turning restriction is being implemented to facilitate ongoing road improvement works and to reduce vehicular conflicts along that section of the roadway, the NWA said.
Manager of Communication and Customer Services at the NWA, Stephen Shaw explained that while Constant Spring Grove will no longer accommodate through traffic, local traffic will be able to access the roadway from Mannings Hill Road. .
Shaw said that access to Electrical Depot and other business establishments in the vicinity will be maintained, however, people entering or leaving these locations will not be allowed to make a U-turn in either direction around the concrete median along that section of the roadway. Access to Constant Spring Terrace and Hillman Road will not be affected by the change, the NWA said.
The NWA said that resulting from the restriction, motorists travelling southbound along Constant Spring Road who wish to access Mannings Hill Road can use Saxthorpe Avenue or continue to Mary Brown’s Corner then on to Mannings Hill Road.
