PM to meet with auditor general on Petrojam report
KINGSTON, Jamaica — Prime Minister Andrew Holness is to meet with Auditor General Pamela Monroe Ellis today on her recent Petrojam report.
Prime Minister Holness made the announcement at a press briefing at Jamaica House this morning.
He said that the meeting would focus especially on the system wide changes in the administration of public agencies, to ensure better administration of the agencies.
The findings of the Petrojam audit, which were tabled in the House of Representatives on Tuesday, revealed high levels of unaccountable oil losses, instances of management overriding procurement guidelines, poor management of capital investment projects and consultancy arrangements, inconsistent recruitment and employment practices, and inadequate oversight and monitoring of Petrojam operations by the Ministry of Science, Energy and Technology.
