Miss Universe Ja Emily Maddison showcases Olympic-inspired costume
KINGSTON, Jamaica — Jamaica’s Emily Maddison stood out in an Olympic-inspired piece in the national costume competition of the 67th Miss Universe Pageant on Monday, when all 94 contestants showcased national pride. The black, green and gold costume, themed Records in Track, was a tribute to Usain Bolt’s record-breaking performances in the sprint races. It featured a head gear with the five Olympic rings, Gold, Silver and Bronze medals, and the world records for the men’s 100 and 200 metres. The costume was topped off with ruffled yellow feathers. Maddison even struck Bolt’s signature “To Di World” pose, which he debuted at the Beijing Olympics in 2008. The national costume competition is one of the pre-pageant events leading up to coronation day, which will take place in Thailand on Sunday, December 16 .
