JustBet offers $1.98 for a Spurs win over resurging Manchester United

TOMORROW, Saturday January 12 and Sunday, January 13, football matches across Europe’s top leagues are sure to provide fans with exciting games as some sumptuous match-ups are in store. JustBet previews three of the expected thrillers this weekend.

Firstly, West Ham host the recharged Gunners, Arsenal, in the London derby, after which Brighton welcome title favourites Liverpool and we close off with the massive pairing of the high-flying Tottenham against bang-in form and the red-hot Manchester United.

West Ham welcome Arsenal to the London Stadium looking to break a home hoodoo that stretches back to 2006. Over the last 13 years, a West Ham home fixture against Arsenal has meant a disappointing afternoon or evening for the long-suffering West Ham fans. They haven’t beaten Arsenal in a home game in any competitive game since November 5, 2006.

On the other side of the coin, Arsenal are putting together a pretty good challenge for the top four this season and while they still have clear weak points, they’re doing better than new coach Unia Emer may have expected.

Arsenal have lost only two of their last 19 league games but failed to win in four on the road. Interestingly, West Ham have lost more Premier League games against Arsenal (29) than they have against any other side.

The betting tip! ARSENAL win.

In the second game on Saturday, Liverpool are going to be determined to get back to winning ways against Brighton after losing their last two games – one to Manchester City in the Premier League, that saw their gap at the top reduced to just four points, with the other defeat coming in the FA Cup against Wolves.

Brighton offer an intriguing yet potentially difficult task, they are currently in 13th place and haven’t been particularly impressive either offensively or defensively with 24 goals scored and 29 conceded. Their Amex Stadium, however, has been their stronghold, garnering 18 points out of their total of 26. Unfortunately for them, Liverpool have the second-best away record in the league, picking up 26 of an available 33 points, losing just once to Man City.

Since the 1978-80 season, Brighton have only defeated Liverpool once way back in 1982 while Liverpool have 9 wins in their 13 head-to-head meetings.

The betting tip! LIVERPOOL win

JustBet closes the big show with a potentially tantalising match-up between Tottenham and Manchester United.

This encounter should provide plenty of fireworks since Jose Mourinho was sent packing by the head honchos at United, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has had Man United playing some of the best football in England and for good measure, they are also unbeaten.

Tottenham are right in the mix with a chance of winning the title, although most pundits are ruling them out, they are only a few points off the top of the table. They enjoyed a great festive season with three wins out of four, and a total of 14 goals scored in the period.

However, their defeat against Wolves came at a bad time as a win would have seen them make up ground on leaders Liverpool.

Spurs responded to that disappointing result by scoring 3 goals in 30 minutes against Cardiff in a routine win.

Man United on the other hand have truly turned the corner now, with Solskjaer boasting the best record of any United manager after five games in charge, winning all five. The key to the upturn in United’s fortune has clearly been the resurgence of talisman Paul Pogba. The Frenchman became the first United player since 2008 to score back-to-back braces. The first meeting between these sides this season ended in humiliation for United at Old Trafford. A brace from Lucas Moura and a Harry Kane header earned Spurs a famous 3-0 win in Manchester. Amazingly, Man United have not won away at Tottenham since 2013, losing on each of their last three visits.
