Repairs completed on transmission main along Mandela Highway — NWC
KINGSTON, Jamaica — The National Water Commission (NWC) is advising that repairs are now completed on the Rio Cobre/Tulloch Spring water transmission main along the Mandela Highway.
The main suffered damage last weekend as a result of road improvement activities taking place under the Major Infrastructure Development Programme (MIDP).
The NWC in a release last evening also reported that the 33-inch pipeline has been reopened and customers serviced from this network will shortly see a gradual resumption of their water supply.
Impacted areas included sections of Portmore and other parts of St Catherine as well as parts of the Corporate Area of Kingston and St Andrew such as Spanish Town Road, Marcus Garvey Drive, Molynes Road, Washington Boulevard, and sections of downtown Kingston.
