Men killed in Tower Hill shooting identified
KINGSTON, Jamaica — The two men who were shot dead during a gang feud in Tower Hill, off Olympic Way in Kingston, yesterday, have been identified.
The two — Andre Reid, 29, of an Alloy Avenue address and Akeem Ffrench, 21, of Ponciana Avenue both in the community — died while undergoing treatment at the Kingston Public Hospital.
Reid and Ffrench were among the six people who were shot yesterday morning approximately 11:20 am.
At the same time, a policeman who was traversing through the community during the gang attack along with his colleague was shot in his hand when a gunman sprayed their unmarked vehicle with bullets on Pear Tree Lane. He was subsequently taken to the said hospital.
The other policeman sustained other injuries and was also hospitalised.
The constabulary’s Corporate Communication Unit told OBSERVER ONLINE this morning that the lawmen have been treated and released.
