Gun found under mattress; ammo found in cornmeal bottle
KINGSTON, Jamaica — The police are reporting the seizure of fifteen rounds of ammunition in Montego Bay, St James on Friday morning and a .38 Revolver containing four rounds in Kingston on Friday afternoon.
According to the constabulary’s Corporate Communication unit (CCU), members of the Jamaica Constabulary Force and the Jamaica Defence Force were conducting a joint operation about 7:30 am, when an unfinished concrete structure in Rose Heights, Montego Bay was searched.
The lawmen reportedly found fifteen 5.56 mm rounds wrapped in plastic and placed in a bottle of cornmeal during the operation.
That seizure preceded a 1:30 pm snap raid in Olympic Gardens, Kingston 11 on Friday.
In this instance, the police searched a house and reportedly found one .38 Revolver containing four .38 rounds under a mattress.
No one was arrested in connection with the two seizures.
