JCF to open ‘Violence Counselling Room’ at Matilda’s Corner Police Station
KINGSTON, Jamaica — The Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) is to open a second Violence Intervention Counselling Room on the island, this time at the Matilda’s Corner Police Station on Old Hope Road in St Andrew on Thursday.
The first such room was opened in January last year at the Constant Spring Police Station, also in St Andrew, as part of the JCF’s domestic violence prevention initiatives and to specifically assist with conflict resolution among residents.
The counselling rooms were outfitted with the assistance of the United States Government.
The room at the Matilda’s Corner Station will be handed over at a ceremony starting at 10:00 am.
