Taking Shape
The Jamaica Observer West roving photographer Philp Lemonte captured the controversial Montego Bay welcome sign, which is being constructed in close proximity to the Sangster International Airport, earlier this week.
Construction of the sign which, tourism officials say is “basically complete”, is being undertaken by the Tourism Product Development Company Ltd (TPDCo) at estimated cost of $17 million of which $5 million has been contributed by private sector groups.
The sign is expected to be officially unveiled at a ceremony planned for next month.
