Tuff Chat from Bling Ras
Deejay Bling Ras hopes his new song, Tuff Chat, will gain some traction in the United States. It is the follow-up to Money Nuff, which made ripples last year in the dancehall.
Tuff Chat carries a similar hardcore feel which Bling Ras favours, and believes the US market leans toward given the marginal success there by dancehall acts like Mavado.
“It have a nice vibe. Wi jus’ hope di strength from Money Nuff can help carry di ting to di next level,” he said.
Money Nuff was produced by DBeatz Music, a Miami-based independent company that successfully linked Junior Reid with rappers in the US a decade ago.
Bling Ras got to know principals of DBeatz Music while working with Reid’s JR Productions for over 10 years. He has recorded several songs for the label in the past 18 months.
The Clarendon-born Bling Ras was born Marlon Dennis. He has been in the music business for almost 20 years, working mainly as a promotions man for Reid’s company.
