Fashion Unearthed at Kingston Night Market

All Woman Fashion (AWF), on a recent visit to Kingston Night Market (KNM) happened upon two local artisans Ika’tan Collection by Ava Ann, and T&T Fashions by Simone Gordon. We share a few of their designs.

T&T Fashions by Simone Gordon

Simone ‘Tasha’ Gordon is no stranger to prints, in particular, Ankara print (aka African wax print). Gordon continues to test the versatility of the distinctive fabric by creating myriad designs from apparel to jewellery or accessories. Recently, Gordon added fringe and bead-embroidered necklaces, coral-beaded bibs with fringe endings, and structured wrap belts to her dossier.

Retired educator-turned-accessories designer Ava Reid-Cowan is fairly new to the design world, but has always been a student of the arts. The Hellshire-based entrepreneur turned her talent into a business and has created a line of understated accessories. Reid-Cowan’s interest is in creating durable items of superb quality, evidenced by her collection of linen, upholstery burlap, Ankara prints, and leather handbags and accessories.

Kingston Night Market takes place every Tuesday at 8 Hillcrest Avenue. Supporting local businesses is always in fashion!
