Big guns wrestle for points in English Premier League

JustBet offers Man United at $3.00 to beat Arsenal

THIS Saturday, March 9 and Sunday, March 10, the world will continue to witness the twist and turns and drama of the English Premier League (EPL) as the top protagonists are all in action.

Champions Manchester City host Europa league hopefuls, Watford, after which we zip over to Merseyside where Liverpool look to get back on track when Burnley visit the Red Square.

The big show terminates with a tasty affair with bang-in form Arsenal and Manchester United squaring off against each other.

Manchester City’s grip on the Premier League strengthened last week, thanks to their main challenger Liverpool’s Merseyside derby draw with Everton, and the visit of Watford to the Etihad Stadium should only enhance City’s title ambitions.

City extended their winning run in the Premier League to five games, while keeping their fourth consecutive clean sheet.

Watford, on the other hand, quickly bounced back from the 5-0 drubbing to Liverpool by beating Leicester City 2-1 in front of their home fans last weekend. Getting a result at the Etihad is easier said than done, and taking City’s firepower into account, we expect a stroll in the park for City.

More worryingly for Watford, is the fact that City are on a 14-game unbeaten run against them in all competitions, a run that stretches back to 1989.

The betting tip! Manchester City win

Liverpool host Burnley at Anfield on Sunday knowing that the Premier League title race is now out of their hands. Drawing four of their last six league outings has caused what was once a seven-point lead over Manchester City to turn into a one-point deficit with only nine games remaining. Three of those stalemates have come away from home, even though Liverpool have been in fine form in front of their fans this season. Every game is a must win for Liverpool.

From looking like relegation certainties at the end of December, Burnley has turned things around dramatically and now look like they will be safe in the Premier League for another season. A recent eight-game unbeaten run was ended by Newcastle, but Ashley Barnes and Chris Wood have been on fire up front for the Turf Moor club since the start of the year.

A Liverpool victory over a resurgent Burnley is expected.

The betting tip! Liverpool win

In the final game on Sunday, the race for Champions League qualification goes up a notch, as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer takes his Manchester United side to the Emirates Stadium to face Arsenal.

Arsenal have started to put together a fine set of results in recent weeks and will be looking at this game as a chance to build a gap between themselves and their rivals for the fourth-place spot.

The Gunners have only lost one match at home all season — on the opening day and will be confident of three points here against their bitter rivals.

On the flip side, Manchester United continue to impress under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and the Norwegian caretaker/manager will look at this match as a chance to deal a psychological blow to Arsenal in the race for European qualification.

Head to head, Arsenal have not beaten Manchester United in any competition for two years, but they did manage a draw at Old Trafford earlier this season.

The betting tip! Draw or United winning 2-1
