Towards new possibilities
VERE Technical High School in Clarendon hosted its annual career forum for upper sixth form students at the school in February, under the theme, Moving Forward: Steering Towards New Possibilities. As explained by the school, the forum was institutionalised to convince students about the importance of gaining advanced degrees and garnering the skills required to propel them into the world of work. “We wanted our students to be excited and well informed about the various colleges and universities accessible to them and the scholarships and grants available,” event coordinator and teacher Melessa Brown-Knight said.
Over 100 students attended the event, which featured CEO of KHADZ Communications Khadine Daley as guest speaker. She framed her address around the topic, ‘Feeling positive about the ability to learn’.
