Prospective students of the Caribbean Maritime University (CMU) can now benefit from
a partnership between Royal Caribbean International (RCI) and the American Caribbean Maritime Foundation (ACMF) which resulted in a scholarship fund for needy students to pursue maritime studies at the university. President and CEO of the mega cruise shipping line, Michael Bayley, and president of the ACMF handed over US$50,000 from that fund last Monday. In addition, Bayley’s first visit to CMU served to introduce him to the highly
skilled, internationally certified potential workforce in Jamaica, which may result in internship opportunities for students and employment for CMU graduates.
