Cops nab alleged gun importer
KINGSTON, Jamaica — A temporary employee at a container terminal in Kingston has been arrested in connection with a cache of firearms, which was recently seized at his workplace.
Jevaughnie McKay, 28, of Old Braeton in Portmore, St Catherine, was yesterday charged with illegally importing firearms and ammunition following a formal interview in the presence of his attorney.
His arrest followed the seizure of 21 firearms and 791 rounds of ammunition at the container terminal on Tuesday, February 26 and Wednesday, February 27.
According to the police, the weapons were shipped from an address in the United States of America.
McKay is to appear in court this Friday.
